The cause of discontentment is that people who feel unappreciated, neglected, or even rejected; however, discontentment is often thefirst step to action because three reasons: people think the condition of discontentment as positive; discontentment is a challenge; and, contentment is delightful.

Others complain because lack of money, or they feel they are not being fulfilled in their jobs. Stress and the need for approval eat away at them. That seems to be at the heart of discontentment not being truly happy in the present. Some people dwell on the past when situations were more agreeable. The challenge each of us faces knows that life can be experienced today. It is not by having a make-believe attitude where we whistle away life's problems. People have learned to be content in whatever circumstance they are in.
