Is Wal-Mart Good for America?
There are many debates on whether or not Wal-Mart’s techniques are
justice. Wal-Mart buys products across the sea to sell here in America
cheaper, but at the same time they put companies, such as Rubbermaid, out
of business. This leads to unemployment, which is already a problem in

I can’t tell you whether I think the strategies used by Wal-Mart are
fair or not. I see many view points of the argument. I, and many
consumers who buy at Wal-Mart, love the fact that we can go there and get
items for less. On the other hand, I do not believe that going over seas
to buy the products to sell here, while putting other companies out of
business, is the way to do it.

What I found most surprising about the video was the “talzon.” This
little machine brings up many specific sales information at the scan of a
barcode. The talzon lets employees know many things such as: how many
items were sold that day, in the hours of, or that week. It also tells the
employee how many are in stock, and much more. It also automatically
refills the order of what they will need and is usually delivered the next

I don’t believe Wal-Mart should put American businesses out of
business, but I do understand that they are trying to keep their promise to
the customers, which is to “sell for less.” I guess that brings us to the
question, “Is Wal-Mart good for America?”
