The Three Turning Points in My Life, So Far
Although most people think that twenty-one years is not that long for someone to have lived, there have already been three turning points in my life that helped make me the person that I am today.Those turning points are: my high school graduation, moving to Jacksonville to attend school, and the move back home a year later. Through these bittersweet situations I have realized who I am.
The day of one's high school graduation is probably one of the most significant times in a young person's life.For me, it was thefirst major turning point in my life.For as long as I can remember, my life had the same routine-nine months out of the year, I went to school five days a week, off two days, and then repeated the same thing every Monday.But then all of a sudden it stopped one day-my graduation-and I had to figure out what I was going to do with the rest of my life.It didn't seem so hard at the time, right after graduation, but I found out soon enough that choosing one's life path is not an easy, overnight decision.
The year following graduation, I attended Gellson State Community College.I had high school friends at Hudsonville State University with whom I spent most weekends.Through my weekends at Hudsonville, I came to the second major turning point in my life.I talked my parents into letting me attend HSU, and I quit my full-time job in order
to make the 60-mile move to Hudsonville.However, life in Hudsonville wasn't as grand as it had seemed.I don't want anyone to misunderstand me-I loved living there atfirst, but without my parents there to push and guide me, I started skipping class which caused my grades to drop.I also partied too much and slept too late the day after.I no longer
had a full-time job, and my funds were quickly depleted.Not to mention the fact that I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my li…
